1. Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health

I have 18 years of professional experience as a translator for the fields of health promotion, health education and public health.

I’m very pleased to collaborate since 2005 with the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (UIPES/IUHPE, www.iuhpe.org), a leading organization in these fields.

Within this partnership, I could perform many and varied works, such as:

  • Translation of editorials and scientific articles abstracts for the quarterly multilingual journal Global Health Promotion (formerly Promotion & Education):
  • Translation of the websites and preparatory documents for the organization’s triennal world conferences (conference programs, speakers biographies, travel and accomodation for participants, instructions for the different types of presentation, etc.). The 23rd of those conferences was held in Rotorua, New Zealand, in 2019:
    • Commvac (Communicate to vaccinate, 2011);
    • Launch of CNCD-Africa (Consortium for NCD Prevention and Control in Sub-saharan Africa, 2011);
    • Various documents for the European project DETERMINE (2007-2010);
    • Various documents related to the Global Alliance for Physical Activity, later renamed Global Advocacy for Physical Activity (GAPA, 2005-2009);
    • The Galway Consensus Conference Statement (2009);
    • European project Getting Evidence into Practice (with the INPES) and European Quality Instrument for Health Promotion (EQUIHP, 2007);
    • Various documents related to the Global Programme on Health Promotion Effectiveness (GPHPE, 2005);
    • etc.

This list is not exhaustive.

I also had the opportunity to collaborate with various agencies and institutions among which the INPES (former French Institute for Prevention and Health Education, currently named Santé publique France), the French Public Health Society (SFSP), the Nursing Faculty at Laval University, Canada, and more recently, the Department of Health Policy at LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science), United Kingdom.

2. Healthcare, Life Sciences

I have 11 years of professional experience in what is called ‘Life Sciences’, collaborating on a regular basis with the TransPerfect network of compagnies (including TransPerfect, Translations.com, Overtaal, etc.)

Within this context, I could perform a very large number of translation/proofreading/quality management tasks, including:

  • Clinical trials protocols and reports;
  • Informed consent forms;
  • Patient information and recruitment brochures;
  • Health questionnaires;
  • Health digital applications;
  • Medical devices user manuals;
  • Care protocols;
  • Online training modules;
  • Various documents (for instance: a national policy against malaria; a scientific article from the Italian Journal of Public Health about an HTA on a certain type of adjuvanted influenza vaccine);
  • etc.

Here again, the list is not exhaustive.

3. Humanitarian organizations

Translators Without Borders is a non-profit organization set up to provide translation services for humanitarian non-profits. I have the honour to be one of their volunteer translators since 2014.

In this context, I could work on various translation/proofreading tasks ranging from a research article on public health in crisis situation to a position statement on non-communicable diseases, a training brochure, an information note on breastfeeding, a seminar report, or a knowledge assessment questionnaire aimed at caregivers.

I’m very proud to participate, even to a small extent, to this positive dynamic!
